Jamestown as a priority neighbourhood includes the communities of Jamestown, Mount Olive, Silverstone, South Steeles and Beaumonde Heights. It is bounded roughly by Steeles Avenue to the north, the west branch of the Humber River to the south, Martin Grove Road to the west and the Humber River and Kipling Avenue to the east.
Lisa Kostakis, Director of Programs and Services at Albion Neighbourhood Services,is one of the leaders behind the new neighbourhood hub at 21 Panorama Court. (The former Father Henry Carr Catholic School has been transformde into a multi-service and community recreation space through a major investment by the city of Toronto’s priority neighbourhood initiative.
There are 13 priority neighbourhoods across Toronto in Scarborough, North York, Jamestown, as well as in York and East York.
